Emergency Preparedness Assessment Overview
You can create an emergency preparedness assessment for your home care patient. The emergency preparedness assessment allows you to assign an emergency rating, review and add emergency contacts, supplies, and vendor information. The emergency priority appears in the client header within the client chart.
You can update the emergency priority ratings within the patient chart: Client Details > Demographics.
The different types of Emergency Preparedness Assessments include:
Emergency Preparedness - Abbreviated Visit Note - regular visit note information as well as emergency preparedness content.
Emergency Preparedness - Abbreviated Comprehensive assessment - OASIS information with emergency preparedness content.
Emergency Preparedness - Patient Assessment - only emergency preparedness content.
Within the Emergency Preparedness Assessment is the emergency rating. The rating scores are listed as follows:
Level 1 (High Priority) - patient needs uninterrupted services. The patient's condition is highly unstable and deterioration or inpatient admission is highly probable.
Level 2 (Moderate Priority) - services for patients can be postponed with telephone contact. A caregiver can provide basic care until the emergency situation improves.
Level 3 (Low Priority) - patient may be stable and has access to assistance. The patient can safely miss a scheduled visit and basic care is provided by a caregiver or patient themselves.
Level 4 (Lowest Priority) - visits can be postponed 72 hours or more with little or no adverse effects. Patient is independent in most ADLs.
The emergency preparedness content is also contained in existing SOC/ROC/Recert assessments.
After completing the emergency preparedness, assessment, you can run the emergency preparedness report that allows the agency to pull a list of patients sorted by emergency preparedness rating.
