Viewing and Printing Interactions

You can check for any identified medication interactions within your client record. It is recommended that medication interactions are completed with initial entry of medications and with any changes to the medication profile.

  • To ensure accuracy of the medication interaction report, ensure the client medication list is current and up-to-date.

  • The agency policy and procedures determines what level of interaction must be reported to the physician and within what time frames.

  1. From Care Details, click Medications and go to Medication Interactions.

  2. Review the medication interactions listed. The Interactions are scored from 1-3:

    1. Minor severity is an interaction that is bothersome, but otherwise not medically detrimental.

    2. Moderate severity indicates the patient's condition may deteriorate because of the interaction requiring additional care.

    3. Major severity indicates the interaction may be life threatening or cause permanent damage.
