Electronic Visit Verification Overview
Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is the electronic verification of services provided by a caregiver.
The purpose of EVV for homecare is to reduce the amount of paper to verify services and decrease the amount of fraud and abuse within the homecare setting. All Medicaid reimbursed home care providers must be using EVV effective Jan. 1, 2019.
If the EVV passes validation checks, the appointment is reviewed and the system automatically sends the EVV data to the vendor.
If the EVV fails validation checks, the appointment is held until the appointment is manually reviewed. After the appointment is reviewed, the system automatically sends the EVV data to the vendor.
You can manage EVV rejections by adding Rejection Dashboard tiles. For more information about managing dashboards, see Managing Dashboards.
